Dr. Wafa Abdullah Maqbul

Dr. Wafa Abdullah Maqbul is a Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist and Head & Neck Surgeon, subspecialised in laryngology and voice surgery. She currently practises in Jeddah/Makkah, Saudi Arabia. She earned her MBBS with Second Class Honours from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, and completed her residency in otorhinolaryngology and head & neck surgery across leading Jeddah hospitals — King Abdulaziz University Hospital, King Fahad General Hospital, King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital and National Guard Hospital — together with an elective rotation in laryngology at the International Medical Center. She obtained the Saudi Board in Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery in 2019, and went on to complete a Fellowship in Advanced Laryngology at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. Her clinical focus is the voice and the airway: assessment and treatment of voice disorders, vocal fold lesions and paralysis, phonosurgery, laryngeal laser surgery, and the management of airway and subglottic stenosis. She also treats the full range of general ENT conditions, including nasal and sinus disease, tonsil and adenoid problems, ear disorders, and head & neck conditions. Dr. Maqbul has co-authored a chapter in Scott-Brown’s Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery—the definitive multi-volume reference in otolaryngology specialty alongside published research on laryngotracheoplasty for high-grade subglottic stenosis in children, endolaryngeal stenting for congenital anterior laryngeal web, recurrent Warthin tumour, and day-case ENT surgery outcomes. She has trained in advanced laryngology techniques in France, Hamburg and London, was named Best Resident in 2017, and is a member of the Saudi Otorhinolaryngology Society, the European Laryngological Society and The British Laryngological association. She sees patients in Arabic and English.
