Dr. Amer Khojah

Dr. Amer Khojah is a consultant pediatrician who works at the point where three fields meet: allergy, immunology and rheumatology. It is an unusual combination, and it matters most for the children whose symptoms do not fit neatly into one clinic — the child with fevers that keep returning, infections that keep coming back, joints that swell without explanation, or a rash and weakness no one has yet tied together. His everyday practice also covers the far more common problems families bring in: food allergy and how to test for it safely, asthma and hay fever, eczema and hives, drug allergy, and knowing when a child genuinely needs an epinephrine auto-injector and how to use it. Parents often arrive after a frightening reaction, or after months of being told to simply wait and see. Dr. Amer trained in the United States for nearly a decade — pediatrics residency at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children in Virginia, then back-to-back fellowships in allergy and immunology and in pediatric rheumatology at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, part of Northwestern University. He is certified by three American boards: Pediatrics, Allergy and Immunology, and Pediatric Rheumatology. He spent three years on faculty at Northwestern as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics before returning to Saudi Arabia. He has published extensively on juvenile dermatomyositis, inborn errors of immunity and food allergy in Saudi children, and in 2026 received the Saudi Society for Rheumatology Award for Research and Academic Excellence. Dr. Amer practises in Jeddah and speaks Arabic and English.
